Testing Standards

Toy quality is at the heart and soul of what we do at KONG. We manufacture a variety of different types of toys that contain various materials to suit a broad spectrum of play needs. Our materials vary from Rubber, Plush, Ballistic Nylon, TPR, etc. With all our products whether they are made in the USA or China, they are tested extensively with our third-party testing laboratory partners before being placed on the market.

All KONG toys are tested extensively by certified third-party laboratories before being placed on the market. Since there are no safety standards on pet toys and accessories, KONG has implemented its own rigorous product testing approach to determine durability, safety, and functionality. Our third-party testing regime is robust and consists of but is not limited to testing around the physical properties, flammability, and chemical content. For example, testing is conducted around chemicals and materials of concern, including but not limited to PFAS, BPA, Phthalates, Heavy Metals, and Toxic Dyes as currently defined by FDA, EPA, OSHA, and REACH. We also utilize in-home pet testing and standardized bench testing. KONG does not test toys using laboratory animals.
